QUESTIONS

1. What does wildness mean to you? Space to breathe. I find myself not breathing properly a lot of the time, and finding myself somewhere wild and unplugged brings me back.

   
   

2. What first drew you to Wild Mosaic? Jon and how passionate he is about nature, wildness and rewilding. Plus, I like to find ways to do things differently and more intimately than “mainstream” donations to tree planting, etc., and Wild Mosaic felt like it was close to home enough to feel tangible, small enough to feel personal and different enough to feel like I’m part of a community and a story rather than just throwing money at something I can’t really imagine or see.

   

   
   

3. Can you describe your relationship to your tile? I am a very visual person, so I often imagine my tile just going about its day…almost like it’s a standalone thing… You know when a bee or a bird flies into shot when you’re watching a football match or something else on TV? I imagine what’s passing through my tile, and I like the fact that it kind of has my name on it. Not sure if that makes sense, but it’s like I can conjure an “episode” of my tile unfolding depending on the season.
   
   

4. And how do you bring more wildness into your life? By really trying to appreciate what’s around me when I’m out in the world. Even when I’m in a city, I like to spot little bits of green and life that most people would just walk past.

   
   

5. SPECIAL QUESTION: If you could be a ‘Wild Thing’, what would you be? A mountain goat. Loves being up high, good at balancing, will headbutt you if you threaten my babies (not that last one, maybe). But I am 100% a goat at heart.
