QUESTIONS

  1. What does wildness mean to you?

For me, wildness is about slowing down, resetting and doing the exact opposite of the chaos of everyday life. I could happily be in a wild spot for hours, just sitting, watching and waiting to see what surprises it throws at you.

  1. What first drew you to Wild Mosaic?

We’ve previously come across several nature-based initiatives for businesses, but this was the first we found that felt connected to the individual. Allowing our team to choose their own spot and receive personal updates felt like a completely different experience, more akin to enjoying wildness in real life.

  1. Can you describe your relationship to your tile?

On a personal level, it just feels good to have this tile, be able to check in and see what’s going on and know that, even if small, there’s a piece of land in this world being looked after on my behalf. For my business, Yard B, it’s a great symbol of what matters to us, and it’s always gratefully received by those we invite to choose their own tile.

  1. And how do you bring more wildness into your life?

It’s the little things you can do that are most rewarding. Even allowing a small part of your garden to grow wild can bring a lot of biodiversity. I’ve always enjoyed learning about, drawing and photographing nature, so doing things that bring it closer to me always feels good.

  1. If you could be a ‘Wild Thing’ what would you be?

Tough call. I always used to say Duck-billed Platypus, but I’m leaning more towards a badger these days! That said, I’m a bit of a twitcher too, and Long-tailed Tits are pretty great. As I write this, I’ve just seen that a nest has been spotted near my site!
